Karunai Illam has been functioning for the last 13 years taking care of the orphans and semi-orphans. Karunai illam is now the house for more than 100 orphans, the age groups varying from 5 to 20+. Their objective of service is giving education to the poor and needy children and the motivation is “LET THEM COME UP THE SOCIETY”. Mr. Power Singam who is the director of this Karunai Illam is taking care of all the children with strong involvement in all activities.
Accommodation:
Karunai illam’s crunching need now is to have a proper building for accommodating all the orphans safely, now it doesn’t have a well built home to accommodate them. Currently they are accommodating the children as well as conducting classes in the same damaged building.
Education:
Kaurnai illam provides education to all the children and helps them complete at least their graduation. In the same place (Karunai Illam), they conduct classes for children up to 6th standard following matriculation syllabus with help of the teachers who are staying around the home. This academic year they have around 8 people who will be pursuing their graduation and the home is heavily depended on the Public contribution for this. |
