Anandha Illam has been functioning since 1994 taking care of orphans as well as HIV Infected persons.
Dr.Manorama was the founder for Anandha Illam a unit of CHES (Community Health Education Society).
Mrs.Chitra Muthupandian was the incharge for Anandha Illam. Anandha Illam is now the house for 47 orphans in the age group varying from 0 – 16 years (17 persons are in 0-2 yrs, 20 persons are 2 - 10 yrs and 10 people are above 10 yrs). In those 47 people, 40 are affected by HIV Positive.
Food and Accommodation:
The home is functioning in a rented building which does not have sufficient place for accommodation. Food for the people in Anandha Illam are prepared by separate cook.With the help of volunteers every Thursday and Sunday they are able to provide a good food. Education:
Anandha Illam provides education to all the children and helps them to complete upto their Schooling.
At present children are given education at the Anandha Illam upto 4th Std, Once they complete 4th Std they are sent to different schools for further Education.
5 Baby Sitter, Teacher, Councilor and Driver are available to look after the children regarding their needs. Health:
ART – A Triple Drug Comp specific for HIV is supplied by Government at free of cost to increase the life span for the HIV affected children.
Medicine expenses for the children were taken care by Volunteers. Achievements:
From Anandha Illam 67 students were sent back to their respective homes successfully.
